Latest Modification fad: A NaMo app to keep women safe
The Economic Times reports that the latest entrant to the Narendra Modi merchandise catalogue is a mobile app to aid women's safety.
Called, what else, NaMo, it has been created by a Facebook initiative that goes by the name Modi-Fying India and will be available on 8 March, to coincide with International Women's Day.
"In a dangerous situation, all one needs to do is shake the mobile phone thrice within five seconds to activate the app," Tajendarpal Singh Bagga, the man behind the Facebook initiative, told ET.
Once activated, the app will make emergency calls to pre-determined numbers and the police, using surrounding mobile towers to send out geographical coordinates.
